1. Install a filter: Ensure the screw pump's inlet is equipped with a filter to prevent large particles from entering the pump body.

2. Check the unit and connections: Before starting up, check that the unit and connections are securely fastened, and that the suction piping and instrument connections are sealed.

3. Check the coupling: Ensure there is a certain clearance between the couplings and that the two shafts are aligned properly. The outer diameter runout and end face runout of the coupling should be within the specified range.

4. Fully primed: Before initial startup, the pump should be fully primed with the working medium. This is usually done by opening the suction valve and allowing the medium to flow naturally into the pump body until the pump chamber is completely filled. You can determine whether the pump is fully primed by observing the flow meter or pressure gauge on the suction line. If the flow rate is stable and the pressure gauge shows normal pressure, the pump is generally considered fully primed.

5. Check the valves: Before starting up, check that the suction valve on the inlet line and the discharge valve on the discharge line are fully open.

 6. Manual Coupling: Before starting the motor, manually rotate the coupling to check whether the screw rotates evenly and smoothly. If any rotation is forced or stuck, stop the machine immediately for inspection.

7. Connect the power source: Briefly connect the power source to check whether the direction of rotation is correct. If the direction of rotation is incorrect, stop the machine immediately and adjust the motor wiring.
